Our story begins in 2016, however the preparation to get here really began many decades prior. But, I began wrestling with God over His purpose for my life. I felt a heavy burden one particular day that God wanted more from me, and I was desperate for Him to tell me. I remember it was a day that I was so consumed by the yearning to know His purpose specifically, not just “ we are all called to ministry. You can do ministry wherever you are.” It was a heavy but a good heavy overwhelming yearning that I needed more than that! It was more than that! All I could do that day was sing and worship and cry on my face. So, I called my spiritual mother and asked how I could know specifically, in detail, what God wanted for my life. She gave me a lot of great advice and scripture, but the one thing I remember was she told me to ask for a dream. I prayed for a dream. I was desperate. And that night God gave me one. I have no doubt that the spirit was pressing me that day so that I would just ASK! God was ready to reveal some things to me, but He needed me to be ready!
Boy, did I have NO IDEA what it meant. But this dream has made more sense as God has shown me more pieces to the puzzle over time.
Over the next few years, God really began to work in the hearts of me and my husband. We both began to seek after Him and grow spiritually. There were many circumstances and experiences that God put before us to help us learn and grow in our spiritual walk.
Now, I need to back up a few decades quickly. It’s important to note that in August of 1990, I was entering the 7th grade. The way the schools worked in our county, there was a feeder elementary school where after the 6th grade, the kids had to merge with the city junior and high schools. So, one hot August day in 1990, I walked off the bus into the breezeway between my new school and the cafeteria making my way into a sea of people that I did not know. I immediately was greeted by a very large smile and “hey” from the tallest girl I had ever seen. Her name was Jamie. She took me in and introduced me to her friends. That is where I met my very best friend, Allison Jones Hollis. So, God really began orchestrating this 33 years ago. And I firmly believe and know now that everything that has happened in those 33 years has been for a PURPOSE!
But in December of 2022, I drove 4 hours to Southaven to help Allison decorate for a wedding. I decided I would stay the entire weekend and attend church with her. Sunday, December 4th, God gave me more pieces to the puzzle, my calling. God used Pastor Chris Whitfield to confirm in my spirit the vision He had given me in a dream in 2016. He confirmed that I would be used as a speaking vessel to help spread the good news to other women who have been through what I’d been through, to share hope with them all over the world. His prophecy lined up with the dream God gave me, yet He had never met me, knew nothing about my story, nor did he have any clue about the dream. Only God can do that! It was confirmation that God had not forgotten about me, that God had been working all this time and that God was getting ready to send me out.
In January of this year (2023), Allison sent me a picture of a concert coming to Southaven and said, “Let’s Go!” To which that turned into she and I gathering a group of ladies from both of our churches to attend the concert. So, Memorial Day weekend, me and 16 other ladies loaded up from Brookhaven, MS, and headed to Southaven, MS, for the It’s Time Tour. We had planned to stay the night and have a brunch devotional with the ladies of Church of New Life (Pastor Chris & Allison’s home church) Saturday morning at Pastor Chris and Julie’s house. Let me just tell you….We thought we were going for a concert Friday night, but the Holy Spirit showed up and showed out Saturday morning. Whewww. It was that weekend that Allison and I realized that God had called us to begin a ministry for women TOGETHER. But we couldn’t do it without Pastor Chris and many of you reading this right now.
The three of us began immediately talking and realized that God had lined this all up perfectly and that IT’S TIME! There are so many women who feel broken, not worthy, like they have no purpose, and we are all creations delivered by God from our broken state. And IT’S TIME to begin using our experiences, our testimonies, to help spread the gospel and raise up Beautifully Broken women who can live in His goodness daily, break generational curses, and live out His purpose for THEIR lives.
We pray that the Jesus Christ is honored and praised through this platform and that the Holy Spirit has His way. Our mission is to bring purpose to the broken through the words of our testimonies.
CenterPoint and New Life Church Ladies at the It's Time Tour, Southaven, MS, May 2023.
We had a sweet time worshipping on a Saturday morning!
